“The board is pleased to announce that the change of name has been approved by the administration of industry and commerce and a new business licence was issued to the company on 11 May 2015,” the Hong Kong and Shanghai-listed company stated.

The change in company name was proposed in March this year, after GSI completed its restructuring and rehabilitation.

Its parent firm China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) injected three years into the company last year, namely Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, Yangzhou Kejin and Longxue Shipyard, as part of the restructuring plan.

The newly named CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering will continue to focus on constructing handysize bulkers, as well as ro-ro ships and passenger vessels.
