Guangzhou Shipyard International bags order for three PCTCs

Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) has inked contracts for three 8,600 ceu car carriers order with an undisclosed Asian owner.

The 8,600 ceu pure car truck carrier (PCTC) is an upgraded version of GSI’s 7,000 ceu vessel, measuring in 200 meters length and 38 meters width, equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion system.

Earlier GSI inked orders to build three same type of 8,600 ceu LNG-powered car carriers from South Korean’s H-Line Shipping.

With the addition of this new order, GSI has 25 dual-fuel car carrier’s orders on hand.

According to numbers released by China’s General Administration of Customs, automobile export volume for January and February was 682,000 units, achieving a substantial growth.
