The Finnish shipping company Langh Ship has placed an order for three 1,200 teu containerships at PaxOcean’s shipyard in Zhoushan, China.

Delivery of the first vessel in the series is scheduled for August 2024, which will be employed in container market in Europe upon delivery.

Designed in collaboration with Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute (SDARI), the ships will be 150 meters long, 27 meters wide and have a draft of 8.75 meters.

The newbuildings will be equipped with a two-stroke, slow-speed main engines for best fuel economy and hybrid scrubbers from Langh Ship’s sister company Langh Tech Oy Ab, which will be prepared for shore power connection and a hybrid solution including batteries.

Langh Ship fleet currently consists of 10 container and multi-purpose vessels. The company also has three 7,800 dwt multi-purpose vessels on order at China’s Wuhu Shipyard.
