Norwegian Car Carriers orders PCTC pair at CIMC Raffles

Oslo-based Norwegian Car Carriers has inked a shipbuilding contract with China’s CIMC Raffles for the construction of two 7,000 ceu car carriers.

The PCTC pair will be LNG-fuelled and ammonia-ready with the first vessel to be delivered in 2025 and the second one in 2026. 

Norwegian Car Carriers’ latest fleet consists of two 6,500 ceu PCTCs and one 6,754 ceu.

In January this year, CIMC Raffles delivered its first LNG-powered PCTC to Zodiac Maritime which was charted to the Chinese automobile manufacturer BYD deployed on China-Europe routes.
