RCL orders 7,000 teu boxship pair from Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding

Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and Regional Container Lines (RCL) have entered into the shipbuilding contract for two 7,000 teu containerships.

With the length of 272.5 metres and width of 42.8 metres, the vessels are designed by SDARI, having advantages of high efficiency and energy saving.

It is the first time RCL has ordered from Waigaoqiao and is a breakthrough in Southeast Asia market for the shipyard, said Waigaoqiao. 

Based in Thailand, RCL is a regional feeder service provider owns a fleet of nearly 50 containerships.
