The confirmation follows Yangzijiang’s announcement in July 2021 of orders for ten dual-fuel 7,000 teu containerships together with a letter of intent for five identical vessels placed by Seaspan Corporation. The latest announcement from the shipyard confirms those five dual-fuel 7,000 teu containerships in the letter of intent have been made firm.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery during 2022 and 2024.

Year to date, Yangzijiang has secured a total of 118 effective shipbuilding contracts worth at $7.21bn.
