Singapore shipyard group Seatrium has secured another long-term repair and upgrade contract this time with Teekay Shipping (Australia).

Seatrium has inked a favoured customer contract with Teekay Shipping (Australia) for repairs and upgrades of its fleet under the Australia Defence Maritime Support Services Program (DMSSP).

The contract includes the refit of a series of vessels over the next two years. The first vessel is scheduled for repairs at Seatrium’s Admiralty yard in July this year with six more dockings planned for the following 12 months.

Peter Iuliano, Head of Operations of Teekay Shipping Australia, said, “By collaborating with Seatrium, we aim to enhance our operational efficiency and instill the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental sustainability in the maintenance of our specialised vessels.”

Alvin Gan, Executive Vice President, Repairs and Upgrades, Seatrium, said, “This agreement not only highlights our expertise in specialised repairs for naval and maritime security related projects, but also demonstrates our dedication to delivering excellence and customised solutions to our partners.”

The latest contract adds to a growing number of long-term repair and retrofit deals Seatrium has inked with major shipowners. Last week it announced a two-year plus one-year option retrofit contract with Angelicoussis Group. In February it renewed an LNG carrier repair pact with Gaslog LNG Services and Shell International Shipping & Trading Company for five years.
