SITC adds eight boxships at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding

SITC International Holdings (SITC) has exercised options for eight container vessel newbuildings at Yangzijiang Shipbuilding with a contract value of $192m.

The eight containerships consist of four 1,800 teu boxships and four 2,600 teu boxships, which will be delivered during November 2022 and May 2023.

SITC is expanding its owned fleet of containerships to meet its operational requirements.

In August 2020, SITC and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding entered into shipbuilding contracts for the construction of six containership as well as the options for six additional ships. In November 2020, SITC further added another two options for vessels from the shipyard.
