Vard Promar in Brazil delivers first vessel

While some shipbuilders are pulling our of Brazil Vard’s newest shipyard in the country Vard Promar has delivered its first vessel.

The yard delivered the 7,000 cu m LPG carrier Barbosa Lima Sobrinho to Transpetro on 8 January.

It is the second in a series of LPG carrier newbuilds to be built for Transpetro by Vard and the first fully constructed at Vard Promar. "The delivery marks an important milestone in the development of the new shipyard, and for Vard’s operations in Brazil,” the company said.

The company has an orderbook of 29 vessels, eight of which are to be built at its two yards in Brazil.
