Wisdom Marine mulls two bulker newbuildings at Japanese yards

Taiwan’s Wisdom Marine is planning to order two dry bulk carriers at a total price of $56m from Japanese shipyards.

The Taiwanese dry bulk shipowner revealed that the vessel acquisition plan includes the purchase of a 62,000-dwt bulker at $30m from Oshima Shipbuilding, an a 37,600-dwt at $26m from Imabari Shipbuilding.

The Taipei-listed shipowner has a plan to grow its fleet to between 100 and 200 vessels this year, and most of the newbuildings will be built at Japanese shipyards.
