The 26,000 dwt heavy lift carriers, constructed by Zhejiang Hongsheng Shipbuilding, are in 160 metres length, 43 metres width, with a carrying capacity of 500 LNG tank containers.

The dual-fuel vessels will be able to sail over 4,000 miles, which is a breakthrough for the type of the vessel, said Yang Xian, chairman of Zhejiang Hongsheng.

The cost of each vessel is around RMB200m ($28.6m).

The first vessel is expected to be delivered by the end of 2020, and will be deployed for the transportation of LNG modules to Russia, Singapore and Malaysia via the Chinese port of Mentou in Zhejiang province.
