The Ningbo-based shipyard said the newbuilding is scheduled to be delivered to the unnamed European owner in 2017. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Xinle Shipbuilding announced on its website that the cement carrier will be designed with environmentally-friendly features. The yard has been focusing on ‘greener’ ships in an effort to build higher specification and better value-added vessels.

“In recent years, Xinle Shipbuilding has implemented a strategy of raising our technological standards and invested in R&D to produce higher value vessels. This will enable the company to have a sustainable development and further promote our services,” the company stated.
