Yangzijiang’s orderbook hits a new high of $14.6 billion

The Chinese private yard Yangzijiang Shipbuilding announced that its orderbook had hit its highest ever value of $14.6bn.

In past two months, the yard has secured new orders for a total of 37 vessels which will be delivered between 2025 and 2027. 

During the latest week, Yangzijiang inked contract with Maersk to build six 9,000 teu methanol dual-fuel containerships which is the yard’s first order for methanol-fuelled boxships. Additionally, the company also had been awarded a contract from Norway-based Klaveness Combination Carriers ASA for the construction of three 83,300 dwt third generation CABU (“CABU III”) vessels.

With the latest order wins, Yangzijiang has secured new orders for 69 vessels as of date worth approximately $5.6bn exceeding its year 2023 target of $3.0bn, achieving the highest ever total outstanding orderbook value of $14.6bn for 180 vessels.
