At least one dead, two injured in Libya Aegean tanker bombing

Aegean Oil tanker Araevo has been bombed by an unidentified fighter aircraft at the rebel-held port of Derna, Libya, killing at least one and injuring a further two.

Authorities have identified the dead crewman as a Greek national, with some reports indicating a further death. Other casualties are yet to be identified.

The vessel had a total crew of 26, including 21 Filipinos, three Greeks and two Romanians.

The vessel’s cargo was destined for generators in Derna according to local reports.

Although severely damaged, the vessel is reportedly not in danger of sinking.
