Capital Ship Management returns to New Times Shipbuilding for six tankers

Evangelos Marinakis’ Capital Ship Management is planning to order up to six LR2 tankers from the Chinese shipyard, New Times Shipbuilding.

Capital Ship Management has inked letter of intent for two plus two 112,500 dwt LNG dual-fuel tankers and construction contract for two 156,000dwt LNG-fuelled tankers with New Times Shipbuilding.

Developed by New Times Shipbuilding, the LNG dual-fuelled LR2 tankers the yard says the design has reached forefront of energy-consumption index, environmental protection performance and reliability among the same type of vessel. 

New Times Shipbuilding and Capital Ship Management firstly established cooperation for LR2 tanker construction in 2022, and the owner had placed several batches of orders and intent of letters for a total of 16 newbuildings in the recent year.
