Cosco shipyards bag orders to build shuttle tanker and module carrier

Two of Cosco shipyards have secured and rendered effective contracts for the construction of two ships with a combined value of approximately $160m.

Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard has won an order to build one 152,000-dwt shuttle tanker for a European company.

The newbuild shuttle tanker is scheduled to be delivered in the first quarter of 2017.

Separately, Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard has also confirmed an option to construct one 21,000-dwt module carrier for a European company, with delivery slated in the first quarter of 2017 as well.

Both the shipyards are subsidiaries of state-owned Cosco Shipyard Group.
