CSIC Wuchang Shipbuilding to build up to four chemical tankers for Sinochem

China’s Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group has won an order to build up to four 7,200 dwt stainless steel chemical tankers for chemicals trading group Sinochem.

Wuchang Shipbuilding, an affiliate of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), has confirmed the order for two ships plus an option for two more.

Financial details of the newbuilding contracts were not disclosed.

Wuchang Shipbuilding said the latest order win has entrenched its position in the three main shipbuilding segments: offshore vessels, container vessels, and dry and wet tankers.
