The shipowner said it had ordered four 39,000 dwt handysize product chemical tankers for $31.2m each at the Vietnamese yard, a joint venture between Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. The contract includes an option to upgrade the vessels to ice class at $936,000 per vessel.
The vessels are due for delivery between November 2015 and October 2016.

The company has a total of 12 product tanker newbuildings on order with a total capex of $368m.
