The 2010-built 145,000 cu m vessel will work on a sub-charter with China National Offshore Oil Corporation Gas & Power (CNOOC) on the Tianjin project, providing the first floating LNG import terminal in China.
GDF Suez Cape Anne will be operated by Höegh LNG after its commissioning in October 2013 in Tianjin.
The FSRU will be moored at Tianjin for up to five years, its trading capability will not be compromised.
"Höegh LNG is very pleased to have supported GDF Suez with the flexibility of sub-chartering the vessel to CNOOC for the use as an FSRU, and at the same time establish an important presence in a rapidly growing Chinese market," commented Höegh president and ceo Sveinung Støhle.
