KNOT orders four shuttle tankers in China

The Norwegian-Japanese joint company Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers (KNOT) has ordered for up to four suezmax shuttle tankers with Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry (Zhoushan).

The Haugesund-based joint venture between Knutsen and NYK, has firmed up three 154,000 dwt units and secured an option for an additional vessel.

KNOT has two 154,000-dwt shuttle tankers under construction at the Chinese shipyard for delivery in December 2024 and October 2025.

The latest order takes KNOT’s overall newbuilds at Cosco Zhoushan to 11. The Chinese shipyard has already delivered five ships.
