"ITOPF is well respected as the global leader in response to ship source spills of oil and chemicals,” said Sørensen. “As a director I have been enormously impressed by the importance of its work and by the expertise of its staff. It is a great honour to be appointed its next Chairman.”

Sørensen succeeds Bjorn Moller, who has been in the post since 2006. The Maersk Tankers ceo has held various positions within the A.P. Moller-Maersk group since 1994, and is currently responsible for more than 200 vessels, 4,000 seafarers and 450 shoreside staff.
