As well as ceo of Maersk Tankers, Engelstoft is to become ceo of Maerk’s Services & Other Shipping division, which consists of Maersk Supply Service, Maersk Tankers, Svitzer and Damco.

Engelstoft, currently coo of Maersk Line, brings several years’ experience within Maersk Group to his new role. "Hanne Sørensen has done a great job repositioning Maersk Tankers, and focused the business on product tankers,” says Engelstoft. “I look forward to carrying on this work. Together with the businesses ceo’s in Services and Other Shipping, I also look forward to defining a plan for future growth. They all have significant potential and I will ensure that they get the necessary focus to realise exciting long-term developments.”

Meanwhile, Sørensen is to become the new ceo of Damco, replacing Rolf Habben-Jansen, who announced he would be leaving in September. “Maersk Tankers is now ready to look ahead, so this is a good time for me to pass on the baton,” said Sørensen.

Group ceo Nils  Andersen said: “The Group is fortunate to have highly experienced leaders to choose from internally. This makes it possible for us to maintain momentum and keep focus on the business.”
