Nakilat has ordered six new gas carriers to meet its forecasts of continued expanding demand for gas transportation.

The vessels are all due for delivery to Nakilat in 2026 and 2027 from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in South Korea, bringing the Qatari owner’s LNG fleet to 71 vessels and doubling its LPG fleet to eight vessels.

The two cutting-edge LNG carriers will have a cargo capacity of 174,000 cu m, and the LPG/ammonia carriers will have a cargo capacity of 88,000 cu m. Nakilat said the vessels will boat the latest technologies and advanced environmentally friendly and efficient propulsion systems.
