The first maximum transit draft restriction of 11.89 m (39.0 ft) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW) will still come into place on 8 September, however, a further restriction set for 15 September is not required at this time.

“Due to recent rainfall the Panama Canal watershed has experienced, the Canal has postponed the need for the second restriction, which was announced earlier this month,” ACP said.

Any further draft restrictions will given with four weeks notice.

“The Panama Canal continues to monitor and manage the water levels of Gatun and Alhajuela Lakes to ensure the security and efficiency of its services.”
