Scorpio Tankers exercises vessel purchase options

Scorpio Tankers is exercising purchase options on six vessels it has under lease.

The NYSE-listed company has given notice on purchase options for two 2016 built LR2 product tankers - STI Grace and STI Jermyn, a 2019 built LR2 product tanker - STI Lavender, two 2019 built MR product tankers - STI Magnetic and STI Marshall, and the 2020 built MR product tanker STI Miracle.

The purchase options are expected to be effected in May this year.

Scorpio Tankers said the exercise of the option would result in a debt reduction of $149.8m.
