SSY underscores tanker expansion with ex-Shell senior exec hire

Shipbrokers Simpson Spence Young (SSY) are planning to boost their tanker business with the hiring of former Shell global VLCC manager Frank Twigg.

Twigg, who had a 35-year long career with Shell, joined SSY on 1 July and will undertake expanding the period and projects desk at the broker. He will be based in London.

James Palmer, SSY managing director of tankers, commented: “Developing and expanding our period and projects desk is something we’ve been working on for some time.  We knew Frank very well and jumped at the chance to hire him when he finished his time at Shell.”

SSY’s tanker division has a staff of 75 in four offices around the world.
