The product tankers, number 20 and 21, will be delivered in late 2026 and early 2027, will fly the Swedish flag and will be entered into the Gothia Tanker Alliance and operated by Furetank.

On delivery, the ice class 1A 17,999 dwt fully-owned vessels will replace older tonnage and bring the Furetank average fleet age to two years.

"Since the introduction of the Vinga series in 2018, Furetank has developed into a substantially larger shipping company with our focus set on environmental progress. It has been an amazing journey," said Lars Höglund, CEO of Furetank.

The specifications of the Vinga series has not stood still. Furetank said the onboard technology is regined with each vessel, and the latest additions are two methane slip reducing technologies, a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction package and Low Load Optimization package, co-developed by Wärtsilä and Furetank. Upcoming ships will have the new package, and it will be retrofitted to existing Vinga vessels.

"Tests performed both in the factory and on board show a methane slip reduction of an impressive 45-50 per cent," said Furetank.

Designed for operation in the North Sea and to meet biofuels and renewable feedstocks demand in Europe, the ships all have dual-fuel capability, battery hybrid solutions and are equipped for shore power.
