Version six of the questionnaire was launched on February 29 and aims to facilitate faster trades and cut repetitive tasks in putting a vessel up for hire. Questions have been added to gather data frequently requested from vessel owners and operators that not covered by version five of the document, reducing the number of requests for information needed.

Version said the updated questionnaire will ask users to provide information on their vessel’s GHG performance data, scrubbers, ballast water treatment systems, energy and consumption ratings, and NOx emissions compliance data.

The update comes as the roll out of OCIMF’s SIRE 2.0 programme brings changes to one of the main inspection regimes for the tanker sector.

Veson Nautical’s Q88 Group and Intertanko’s vetting committee worked together on the questionnaire update on a working group chaired by Captain Ashley Cooper, group marine director, Scorpio Ship Management.

Capt Cooper, said: “With the transition to SIRE 2.0, and the adoption of new technology, the need was felt to modernize the questionnaire. The latest revision includes information based on current developments in shipping that will assist in expediting the vessel acceptance process.”

Intertanko and Veson urged owners and operators to verify that their vessel data is accurate, complete and up to date in order to make the most of the questionnaire update.
