Workers missing after tanker fire in Indonesian shipyard
An unconfirmed number of workers are reported to be missing after fire broke out onboard an aframax tanker Jag Leela docked in Waruna Shipyard in Belawan.
Videos show thick black smoke billowing from the 1999-built tanker and according to reports a number of workers are missing having been trapped inside the vessel, while several workers were rushed to hospital with burns from the accident.
Six fire engines and three firefighting tugs were reported to have been deployed to try and bring the fire under control.
The Indonesian-flagged aframax is owned and managed by Waruna Nusa Sentana.
