China Merchants Port works with China’s leading internet company Tencent to deepen cooperation on intelligent port development.

According to the agreement, the two parties will jointly promote an intelligent port platform, intelligent port operation, automatic terminal and other innovated technologies in port sector to provide more intelligent, convenient, efficient and greener port service.

In recent year, China Merchants Port has invested in and operated 50 ports. The development of the intelligent port is a crucial move for the company to achieve the goal to be a top world-class port service provider by 2022, said Bai Jingtao, ceo of China Merchants Port.

Earlier in 2017, China Merchants Port and Tencent established initial cooperation for information construction.

Last year, China Merchants Port jointly set up the first 5G intelligent lab for port industry with ChinaMobile and Huawei in Greater Bay region.
