APM Terminals Yokohama retains productivity crown in 2014
APM Terminals Yokohama has held onto the top spot in JOC's 2014 global container terminal productivity rankings with 186 moves per hour (MPH).

Maersk Group's terminal arm also bagged the top spot for productivity in Europe and North America in the study of ports with over 100 call records in 2014.
In Europe, Rotterdam's 101 MPH earned it the joint top spot, and joint 16th place in the world rankings. In North America, 92 MPH bagged APM Terminals Los Angeles the regional throne.
In all the group's operated or significantly-held terminals earned nine spots in the top 25 global rankings, six of which are based in China with between 136 MPH and 111 MPH.
For work on larger vessels of over 8,000 teu, the group's Qingdao Qianwan Container Terminal tied for the top spot with 157 MPH.
“Productivity will become the crucial determining factor in port call selection, as larger vessels and shipping alliances increase port call container volume concentrations, and we are proud of the efforts of our staff and our partners, in meeting this challenge so convincingly this past year”, commented APM Terminals coo Jeff De Best.
