Distriport covers a 22-hectare site and includes 630 metres of quay, container transhipment and storage facilities, 50,000 cu m of covered warehouses, transhipment options for general cargo, high and heavy lift, and a railhead with 1.4 kilometres of track. The acquisition offers CLdN the opportunity to further expand and diversify its range of services.

"While Distriport has a clear strategic fit with CLdN's activities, it is less in line with Broekman Logistics' strategic focus as an industry specialist in machinery, industrial and chemicals," said Flows Rik Pek, managing director of Broekman Logistics.

"The Distriport terminal is very dear to our hearts. However, we are confident that our 80 colleagues will have a good future at CLdN," he added.

Broekman Logistics simultaneously announced investments in its Project Services terminal in Rotterdam-Heijplaat, which is being converted into a quayside location for assembly and technical services for industrial and marine equipment as well as heavy machinery.
