A permanent security presence is required in a stretch of the Singapore Straits where pirates boarded or attempted to board six vessels on 21 and 22 August, says security firm Dryad Maritime.
Three vessels while underway in the eastbound lane of the Straits of Malacca and Singapore on Wednesday were boarded by pirates within a span of three hours, according to ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre (ISC).
