Malaysia's major gateway Port Klang is gearing up for the mega-boxship wave with the Port Klang Authority (PKA) deepening the South Channel entrance at Pintu Gedong from its current depth of 16.5m to 18.0m local reports said.
Dutch-based dredging company Van Oord has been awarded a $68.5m contract for dredging and maintenance work for the western access channel to the port of Surabaya in Indonesia by Pelindo III.
Van Oord has been awarded a EUR500m ($696m) land reclamation project in Kuwait by the Kuwait National petroleum Company (KNPC).
