China's Xiamen Port is now able to take in vessels of 100,000 dwt or panamax size in both directions and at all states of tide with the completion of its navigation channel.

According to local media reports, the additional engineering work to dredge the 34.8km approach channel under phase three of the port's navigation channel expansion project has been completed and has passed an acceptance inspection.

The construction program of the project was completed in December 2012 and the additional dredging work has just been completed.
