Johor: The Malaysian media is keeping close tabs on what China's number two shipping line has planned in terms of infrastructure investment in the southeast Asian state. China Shipping, which along with CMA CGM, is Westports top client has asked the Port Klang terminal for dedicated berths and/or a stake in the port since it is the Chinese firm's current regional hub. However, upping the ante, China Shipping is also understood to have inquired at the Port of Tanjung Pelepas, near Johor, about possibly investing there. PTP's current main two clients are Maersk and Evergreen. An announcement is likely to be made before year end. [21/11/06]
