Gard plans to open in Singapore in spring 2014 subject to regulatory approval with an office providing underwriting and claims handling across the Southeast Asian region.

As the leading Club in the region, opening an office in Singapore is a logical next step in the development of our Asian strategy, and reflects our commitment to the region represented by our offices in Hong Kong and Japan” said Svein Buvik, acting ceo of Gard.
Singapore’s P&I insurance sector continues to grow with Japan P&I opening up last month, joining the UK P&I Club, Standard Asia, Shipowners P&I and Skuld.
