Nam Cheong sells four offshore vessels for $92m
Malaysia’s Nam Cheong has sold three PSVs and one accommodation work boat (AWB) worth about $92m, bringing its orderbook to a total of 25 vessels worth around MYR1.7bn ($530.3m).

The three 3,000-dwt PSVs were sold to a repeat customer which is an oilfield services firm in Asia.

The 200-men AWB was sold to a subsidiary of a new customer, Maridive and Oil Services based in North Africa.

The four offshore vessels are being constructed as part of Nam Cheong’s build-to-stock series in the group’s subcontracted yards in China. They are scheduled for delivery between 2014 and 2015.

“These four orders, on the back of the contract for two AWBs last week, speak volumes of the growing confidence in Nam Cheong’s reputation and expertise within the region and beyond as well as the strength of the upbeat sentiments from the continued momentum of rising E&P activities around the world,” said Leong Seng Keat, ceo of Nam Cheong.
