Tokyo: Russia and Japan will jointly build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in the Russian port of Vladivostok, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported on Sunday.
The plant is set to be put into operation in 2017 with an annual production capacity of more than five million tons of LNG, the newspaper said.
Tokyo expects a deal to this effect to be signed before the end of the year, with Russia due to be represented by Gazprom officials.
Representing Japan will be the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry plus the Japanese trading house ITOCHU. [13/12/10]
