IMO 2020 requires a change in mentality: Lukoil Marine Lubricants ceo

Speaking to Seatrade Maritime Marintec China 2019 recently, Viktor Zhurasky, ceo of Lukoil Marine Lubricants, explained how he sees the operational landscape for shipowners and managers changing with the coming into force of IMO 2020 and the longer-term shift to zero emission fuels.

Zhurasky relates how Lukoil Marine Lubricants was the first company to introduce a new lubricant to meet the requirements of IMO 2020 compliant fuels and how the change in regulations requires a change in mindset from ship operators.

He also believes it will not be an overnight process and that it will take six to 12 months for people to fully understand what is going on.
