Antong and CULines end international container co-operation

CULines CU Lines vessel in port
After nearly two weeks of negotiation, Antong Holding and CULines have agreed to terminate their joint operation of foreign trading shipping services.

According to announcement released by CULines, the company will independently run the West America service using its owned and newly-chartered vessels. Four new vessels will be deployed on West America routes next year after delivery.

CULines said that over the past two years it had expanded and developed markets in America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Asia regions, and that it will keep optimizing fleet structure and send more capacity to the Asia market.

Upon the implementation of the settlement agreement, Antong will receive RMB470m for contract cancellation. The company will keep looking for partners or other operational methods to further promote both domestic and international services, said Antong.
