Central China Logistics has launched the largest containership servicing the route between Wuhan and Yangshan, Shanghai.

The 1,140 teu boxship, Hanhai 5, in 139.8 metres length, 26 metres width and 11.5 metres depth, is the largest container ship providing direct service between Wuhan and Shanghai.

The service could improve connection between the middle reach of Yangtze river and the Yangtze river delta region, said Xu Biao, official from Central China Logistics.

Central China Logistics is planning to invest CNY160m to build two new 500teu container ships for Wuhan-Japan route.
