MSC changes port calls on US - Caribbean – South America service

MSC will make changes in the rotation of its weekly service USEC - Caribbean - ECSA starting in April with additional port calls.

The changes are to improve the coverage of the US East Coast - South Brazil trade and connectivity with its South American network, as well as with its intercontinental services. The ports of Philadelphia, USA; Paranagua, Brazil and Cristobal, Panama will be added to the service.

The service, currently calling New York, Norfolk, Baltimore, Charleston, Savannah, Port Everglades, Caucedo, Santos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio Grande, Navegantes, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Suape, Caucedo, Freeport (Bah), New York, using a fleet of eight vessels of 5,500 to 6,800 teu, new calls will be added at the ports of Philadelphia and Paranagua, while a northbound call will also be introduced at the port of Cristobal in Panama.

Meanwhile, Port Everglades and Freeport, Bahamas, will be dropped from the service; while the northbound call at the port of Caucedo in the Dominican Republic will be discontinued.

The service's enhanced itinerary will cover Philadelphia, New York, Norfolk (Va), Baltimore, Charleston, Savannah, Caucedo, Santos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio Grande, Navegantes, Paranagua, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Suape, Cristobal and Philadelphia.
