PIL has announced the retirement of Klaus Ku, Managing Director of PIL China and stepping into the role will be Anderson Luo, who previously worked for Maersk.

The company said that since joining in 1995, Ku had played a key role in growing and expanding PIL’s China business. Under his leadership, PIL strengthened ties with the key ports in China, forged good partnerships with them and earned many accolades from the ports across the country.

"With 20 years of track record in senior management responsibilities, Anderson brings with him a wealth of experience and a solid understanding of China’s shipping market, making him well placed to lead PIL China into the future. I look forward to the contributions of Anderson to the company’s continued growth and development," stated Lars Kastrup, CEO of PIL.

From 3 November 2023, Klaus Ku has assumed the role of Advisor of PIL China until early 2024 to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
