In the midst of fast-paced change, the salvage and wreck removal industry will soon pause to focus on Seatrade Maritime Salvage & Wreck 2023 with Andrew Chamberlain, partner at HFW, set to reprise his role as conference chairman.

Now ten years into his tenure as conference chairman, Andrew Chamberlain will steer more than 50 panellists across two days of focused talks, engaging debates, and insightful panel sessions. While in recent conversation with Ana Duvancic, Conference Production Manager of Seatrade Maritime Salvage & Wreck, Chamberlain expressed his excitement in this year’s event.

“Like all aspects of the shipping industry, the salvage industry is changing quickly,” said Chamberlain.

“It is vital that as an industry, we come together to talk about the future, take stock of the current landscape, and discuss key developments. Where can technology prove most effective? Will ESG have a significant impact on salvage contracts? Seatrade Maritime Salvage & Wreck is the perfect catalyst for such conversations, and I am delighted that this year I will be part of them in my role as Conference Chairman once again,” continued Chamberlin.

“In particular, I am looking forward to Allianz’s Annual Safety and Shipping Review and our panel discussion on the Particularities of Offshore Casualties and Wreck Removal. I have also been involved as a committee member in the recent drafting of the next stage of the BIMCO Wreck Removal Agreements, and it will be great to have an opportunity to discuss this more openly during this year’s conference,” added Chamberlain.

While providing delegates with a fantastic opportunity to learn from sector specialists, Seatrade Maritime Salvage & Wreck will also provide a unique networking opportunity as shipping and salvage professionals, as well as those who represent the legal and insurance interests of shipowners around the world, come together for this essential industry conference.

“Seatrade Maritime Salvage & Wreck is where everyone who is influential in this industry will be. Quite simply, it is a fantastic networking opportunity,” added Chamberlain.

Seatrade Maritime Salvage & Wreck 2023 will take place at the Leonardo Royal Hotel London City in London from 6 – 7 December, with support from official event partner HFW and supporting association International Salvage Union (ISU).
