Entries open for Seatrade Maritime Awards Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa

Entries are officially open for Seatrade Maritime Awards Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa, which takes place this year for the first time in association with Lloyd’s List.

Businesses and individuals from all sectors of the regional maritime industry have until Friday 13th August to share their success across a total of 18 categories, each of which offers a focused opportunity to showcase how outstanding achievement, innovation and collaboration is contributing to the development of local shipping markets.

“We are delighted to open entries for this year’s Seatrade Maritime Awards, which for a record 18th year will once again recognise those making outstanding contributions to the progress of maritime in the Middle East,” said Chris Morley, Group Event Director – Seatrade Maritime.

“These awards, which this year take place in association with Lloyd’s List, provide an accessible and transparent opportunity for all to get involved. We actively encourage businesses of all sizes and scales to get involved as we believe the range and diversity of our entrants is what makes this programme so unique,” continued Morley.

A total of eighteen categories are now open for entry, which will be judged by a series of independent panels across all categories, with the exception of the Editorial Choice Awards which will be selected by editorial representatives from Seatrade and Lloyd’s List.

  • Education & Training Award
  • Corporate Social Responsibility Award

Industry Performance Awards:

  • Shipping Company of the Year
  • Outstanding SME Performance Award – NEW for 2021
  • Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Award

Technical Innovation Awards:

  • Marine Fuel Innovation Award -NEW for 2021
  • Technical Innovation Award
  • Sustainable Shipping Award – NEW for 2021

Logistics Excellence Awards, in association with TOC Events Worldwide

  • Port Management Award
  • Logistics Solution of the Year
  • Terminal Operations Award

Editorial Choice Awards

  • Regional Deal of the Year
  • Diversity & Equality Award
  • Young Person of the Year
  • Personality of the Year
  • Outstanding Achievement Award
  • Lifetime Achievement Award

“In spite of the unprecedented challenges faced over the last year, the tenacity of maritime businesses in the Middle East means that the market is well-positioned for a strong post-COVID recovery,” said Chris Hayman, Chairman of Seatrade.

“Through Seatrade Maritime Awards, we look forward to celebrating the achievements of this important region as it continues to go from strength to strength,” continued Hayman.

Entries will stay open until Friday 13 August and taking part is free-of-charge. Detailed information on how to enter, category criteria and the judging process can be found on the Seatrade Maritime Awards website.

Further information on the presentation ceremony will be shared shortly, which will take place on Sunday 12 December in Dubai.
