The vessel sharing partnership is for a service covering the ports in New Zealand to Tonga, Samoa (Apia), Cook Islands and Fiji.
Three vessels will be deployed on the service, two from Mason – Imua II and Olomana, and a chartered ship from Swire Shipping.
“Today’s launch will enable us to offer expanded global coverage into the Pacific Islands, as well as specifically providing New Zealand customers with a new direct service alternative,” said Jeremy Sutton, General Manager, Swire Shipping.
“Our aim is to offer best in class and reliable services from all key trading countries and regions importing and exporting to the Pacific Islands.”
Swire Shipping will also be exploring options for inland delivery for the Pacific Islands.
