The port of Shanghai retains its position as the world’s largest container port in 2022.

Last year, container volume at Shanghai port exceeded 47.3m teu, maintaining crown the world’s number one container port for 14 consecutive years. However, last year the Chinese port only saw marginal growth over 2021 when it handled 47m teu.
