Jifmar to acquire all workboat activities from Acta Marine

Acta-Marine workboats
Jifmar Offshore Services and Acta Marine have concluded an agreement where Jifmar will acquire all workboat activities of Acta Marine.

This acquisition encompasses all 26 workboats, the crews (200 employees), the Netherlands-based organisation and all existing contracts. Acta Marine's Offshore Wind Construction Support and Walk-to-Work activities are excluded from the transaction.

Jean Michel Berud, CEO of Jifmar Offshore Services, said: "Together with Acta Marine Workboats, Jifmar will become the world's largest independent operator of workboats. We have now obtained a strong base in the Netherlands, being a centre for international workboat activities.”

Acta Marine's Workboat activities will continue to operate from their Den Helder office in the Netherlands as a branch office under the Jifmar brand. This branch specialises in shallow water and near coastal marine projects. The current Acta Workboat contact persons to clients, suppliers, and personnel will remain unchanged.

Govert Jan van Oord, Managing Director of Acta Marine Workboats, will transfer with the business as part of the Workboat division and will lead the Dutch activities for Jifmar. "Within Jifmar we found a new strong home for our workboat activities, and together with Jifmar we will be able to offer a broader range of services to our clients all over the world," - he commented.

Acta Marine will continue as owner and operator of an expanding fleet of Offshore Wind Construction Support Vessels and retains its Rotterdam office and staff. Acta Marine currently has three walk-to-work vessels operating and has a strong growth strategy with four more vessels under construction, with deliveries during 2024.

The transaction is being executed in early December. Jifmar and Acta Marine are committed to ensuring a seamless transition for the business and its clients, with a primary focus on business continuity.
