Trades previous served under the APC brand will now be operated under the BBC Chartering name. The APC SAFE Line between Asia and the East Coast of South America is being renamed BBC Americana Line Far East Service, whilst the APC SAFE Line between Asia and the West Coast of South America will be rebranded BBC Andino Express Line Far East Service.

In the rebranded trades, BBC Chartering will continue to operate from representative offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Dalian, Melbourne and Dubai, all of which will operate under the BBC Chartering name. An additional office will be opened in South Korea (Seoul) from July 1st  2009.

All commercial staff in the offices above will transfer onto the BBC Chartering payroll. In addition, from August 1st, Mr Oliver Andersen will become managing director for BBC Chartering & Logistic's regional operations, based in Singapore, in addition he will be co-ordinating the commercial activities across the Asia Pacific region. He joins from family concern Andersen Shipping Company.

Announcing the reinvigoration programme and welcoming Oliver, Svend Andersen, president and CEO of BBC Chartering & Logistic, said: "We have successfully served our clients' project shipping needs in Asia for many years and it will be Oliver's challenge to re-position BBC to take advantage of new opportunities, further enhance the services that we offer to our clients, as well as improve operating efficiencies."  [11/06/09]
